The Lafayette Bar Association is excited to partner again with Second Harvest Food Bank on the annual Food from the Bar campaign in Acadiana. Food from the Bar is the legal community’s response to child hunger across the country, in which local firms raise funds, donate food, and volunteer at local food banks.
Second Harvest serves communities across 23 parishes in South Louisiana, including Lafayette Parish. Each and every day, nearly 50,000 individuals in Lafayette Parish struggle to access the healthy, nutritious food they need for themselves and their families. Working with our local, community-based partners across the parish, Second Harvest Food Bank helps ensure the basic food needs of families and individuals in our community are met. Second Harvest provides more than 3 million meals to individuals, children, and seniors in need each year in Lafayette Parish, and continues to expand its efforts in the region.
We hope that your firm will join us to support this campaign. It’s easy to participate - your firm can help feed hungry families.
* Participate in Food from the Bar from November 1st – November 30th and collect food & funds at your office for Second Harvest. It is as simple as sending an email to your office publicizing the campaign and encouraging staff to donate. Second Harvest can set up an online page for your firm to make donating simple & secure.
* Consider a virtual event or prize contest to encourage participation and make it fun for the whole firm.
Your support is needed now more than ever – please join us! Thanks for your consideration.
