The Association for Women Attorneys is excited to partner with Second Harvest Food Bank on the 13th annual Food from the Bar campaign. Food from the Bar is the legal community’s response to child hunger across the country, in which local firms raise funds, donate food, and volunteer at local food banks.

Second Harvest serves communities across 23 parishes in South Louisiana. Each and every day, our neighbors struggle to access the healthy, nutritious food they need for themselves and their families. Working with our local, community-based partners across our service area, Second Harvest Food Bank helps ensure the basic food needs of families and individuals in our community are met.

We are honored to have Jan Hayden as our honorary chair this year.

We hope that your firm will join us as a sponsor of the campaign and participate in the Firm Challenge this summer, July 8 – 21.

You can make your donation by searching for your firm's page in the "Search Teams" box or you can make a donation on the AWA's team page here if you are not affiliated with a participating firm.

Our Food from the Bar campaign will kick-off with a benefit at Monomin at 2104 Magazine Street on June 20, from 5 pm - 7 pm. Join us for wine & light bites from Baru. Monomin is generously donating 20% of in-store and online sales from 5 pm - 7 p. to Second Harvest!

We will wrap up the campaign with a Tsunami Takedown on July 24. Mark your calendars and please plan to join us at Tsuanmi Sushi! Purchase tickets here

It’s easy to participate in Food from the Bar! Your firm can do one or more of the following to help feed hungry families across South Louisiana:

Sponsor the campaign!

• Participate in the Firm Challenge and collect food & funds at your firm for the food bank. Start by sending an email to your office publicizing the campaign and encouraging staff to donate. Second Harvest can set up an online page for your firm to make donating simple & secure for your staff. Click the "Start a Team" button above or contact Kathryn at Second Harvest for assistance.

• Consider an office-wide activity or prize contest to encourage participation and make it fun for the whole staff. Check out ideas from successful campaigns. Here's a few more!

We are looking forward to a successful campaign this year!
